I’m David Forbes, and I make games, tools and study guides for the classroom. Some are for fun. Some are for real. All of them run in your browser.

Chapter I · 3 works

Play — games that sneak the lesson in.

Physics you can break, algebra you can match, and a classroom that can hear itself. These started as lesson hooks and grew teeth.

Fig. 1 Live truss under a moving load. Blue is tension, red is compression. Drag a joint to load it yourself.

TrussCraft

Build a bridge. Run the load test. Watch the forces.

A bridge-building game for teaching statics. Students lay roadway, timber, steel and cable across a gorge, then send a truck over while every member lights up blue in tension or red in compression. Each of the seven levels forbids the last level's answer, and every budget was set by searching for the cheapest bridge that actually survives.

  • Seven levels, from triangulation to cantilevers
  • Live Verlet physics with Euler buckling
  • Every failure explains which member gave way, and why
  • One offline HTML file: no install, no libraries

Like Terms Match

A neon match-three where only like terms combine.

Swap tiles on a rotating 3D board to line up three or more like terms and simplify them. Coefficients don't matter, only the pronumeral and its power, which is the whole lesson. PEMDAS bombs clear rows and columns, divide-by-zero traps cost you shields, and the colour-coding fades away as students level up.

  • PEMDAS bombs and divide-by-zero traps
  • Scaffolding that fades as students improve

Classroom Noise Monitor

A volume meter the whole class can see, so nobody has to shout.

Turns any device's microphone into a friendly, real-time noise meter for the projector. A colour-changing creature, quiet challenges, attention signals and end-of-lesson reports let a class see how loud the room is and regulate itself. Audio is analysed on the device and never recorded, uploaded or stored.

  • Presets for library, group work, presentations and tests
  • Auto-calibrates to the room's baseline
  • Quiet challenges, achievements and session grades
  • Privacy first: audio never leaves the browser

Chapter II · 6 works

Work — tools that give the weekend back.

Marking, worksheet making and course notes: the jobs that eat a teacher's Sunday, handed to software that does them properly.

Fig. 4 A “describe” answer to an “analyse” question: marked, capped, then rewritten a band higher.

Band 6

An AI marker that grades like a senior HSC examiner, then shows you the next band.

Students answer an HSC question and get it marked against the NESA band descriptors by a deliberately ruthless marker. A response that describes when the question says analyse is capped at Band 3, however long it is, and every mark comes with specific Band N+1 feedback. Teachers get a syllabus navigator, a question generator and an audit that fills gaps across a whole course.

  • Marks against NESA band descriptors and command verbs
  • Specific Band N+1 feedback on every response
  • Syllabus navigator down to individual dot points

Differentiated maths worksheets from a seed, exported as vector PDF.

Pick a stage, topics and NESA outcomes, and Maths Suite generates easy, medium and hard question sets with an answer key and optional worked solutions. About

Every project started as a problem in a real classroom.

A concept that wouldn't click, a worksheet that took an hour to make, a room that kept getting louder. Each of these tools began as one of those, got built to fix it, and then kept growing.

  • Browser first. Nothing to install. Most of these work offline once they've loaded.
  • Made for NSW. Aligned to NESA syllabus outcomes, command verbs and band descriptors.
  • Built in the open. Every line is on GitHub, and this page rebuilds itself from it.
